Delegates from across NCR showcased their prowess in journalism as they represented their schools during the 35th Regional Secondary Schools Press Conference held last September 21 and 29, 2011 in La Consolacion College, Pasig City.

Among these delegates were students from Makati Science High School who are part of the Makati Science Vision and Ang Kadluan. The Makati Science Delegation was comp osed of Andreah Recuya, News Writing; Angelica Borcelis, Pagsulat ng Balita; Grazianne Mendoza, Feature Writing; Kristine Rayco, Pagsulat ng Lathalain; Rafael Queypo, Editorial Writing; Mary Joy Fernandez, Pagsulat ng Editoryal; Patricia Cabanit, Copy Reading and Headlining; Zarah Arcega, Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Balita; Gil Santero, Editorial Cartooning; Paulo Borres, Kartuning; Katherine Bersola, Sports Writing; and Edilberto Co, Photo Lay-outing.

Although contests started on September 21, the opening program was just held on September 29. The words of welcome were given by the president of La Consolacion College, Sister Gerolinda Tingson. After that, the objectives of the conference were stated and the delegates were presented. For the keynote address, Mr. Anthony Taberna, an ABS-CBN and DZMM anchor, spoke words of inspiration for the delegates. All the delegates present then, recited the Journalist's Creed before being briefed with the house rules and conference procedure. Last to speak was Ms. Elena R. Ruiz, Schools Division Superintendent, who formally opened the 35th RSSPC.

Before each contest, the delegates attended an hour long lecture for their corresponding category. The lectures and contests were held simultaneously in the different rooms and multi-purpose halls of La Consolacion College from 10 am to 3 pm that day.

The winners of the contests are yet to be announced on the closing program which will be held on October 10, 2011. Only the top three from each category will be given the chance to compete in the upcoming National Secondary Schools Press Conference.
