TURN-OVER CEREMONY TAKES PLACE AT THE PROM

                It has been a tradition of the Makati Science High School to hold a turn-over ceremony for the incoming and outgoing SSG officers. Besides the officers that were involved in the ceremony, there were also selected students who took part in the said event.
               
The ceremony was held at the Makati Palace Hotel last March 12 during the Junior-Senior Promenade. Portia Jessica Maclan of IV- Faraday and current SSG president bestowed the Key of Responsibility to Alexis Mari Alarcon of III- Roentgen. Both of them also gave tribute to Mr. Juanito Piscos who had recently passed due to a cardiac arrest. They alleged that without this generous man, the promenade would not be possible. Gieanne Malimban of IV- Fermi, current SSG secretary gave the Ink of accordance to Samantha Grace Cruz of III- Becquerel while Patricia Juim Suico of III- Faraday, conferred the Pouch of Treasury to Aprille Joy Reyes of III- Becquerel.

The seniors hope that the juniors keep their toes on the go and will always set their best foot forward moreover be keen and brave in order to face the most challenging and even the most arduous task they will encounter ahead to continue bringing honors to their dear Alma Matter. All of them emphasized the big responsibilities that they need to shoulder and the full resignation of themselves to the good and benefit of the activities that the school is going to have

Aside from the incoming and outgoing SSG officers, Maria Patricia de Mesa of IV- Newton bestowed the “Flower” which symbolizes beauty and camaraderie to Lora Santiago of III- Rutherford; Mark Brian Dastas of IV- Einstein conferred the “Candle” to Lawrence Riodique of III- Roentgen; Paolo Mendoza of IV- Newton gave the Wires of Connectivity to Joyce Piscos of III- Becquerel, which symbolizes innovation and communication and the core duty of updating and improving the website of the school; and the Book of Knowledge which represents the true wisdom of a Makati Science student was turned over from Maryliz Zubiri of IV- Einstein to Marie Abigail Pacho of III- Becquerel who both happened to be the outgoing and incoming SSG auditor.

The promenade began with a procession followed by the turn over ceremony and the batch prophecy of the seniors by Paolo Mendoza. Hazelyn Frias of III- Roentgen was crowned as the prom princess while Reich Rechner Canlas of III- Becquerel was declared prom Prince. Christine De Ubago of IV- Faraday was proclaimed prom queen and Mark Samonte of IV- Newton was the prom king of the night. “Best Dressed” awards of the juniors go to John Rey Burce of III- Lavoisier and Dyan Veronica Bombais of III- Roentgen while Kevin Orpilla of IV- Einstein and Hidemi Miyazawa of IV- Faraday were the senior awardees. The “Butterfly” award goes to Esther Suarez of IV- Faraday and Nolan Redji Domingo of IV- Fermi.  Gieanne Malimban of IV-Fermi and Sean Ephraim Paulino of IV- Newtom shone brightest of all as both received the award “star of the night”.

Dinner was served after the program and the dance session followed afterwards. The Junior-Senior Promenade was a great experience and thus a night to remember for all the participants.
