- MA. JOSEPHINE ESTONILO INOCENCIO

The Senior All-Stars’ Basketball Team defended their championship title over the Sophomore Vipers through a heated battle, with a score of 100-86, Oct. 10.

The All Stars, with their team captain, Mark Lorenz Cerdeña Samonte, made the game a thrilling one. For the first two quarters, the Vipers were ahead of the All-Stars.  As the third quarter began, the game became more crucial. The fight was already getting hot. The All-Stars gained their momentum and did not let the opportunity escape, so they did their best to catch the Vipers and be ahead of them. Both teams were nervous about their current standings. Both were aiming to get the championship title.

In the last quarter, a lot of difficulties were experienced by both teams. Jedmund Sales and Clemente Tolentino Cajigal of the All-Stars were not able to finish the game due to five offensive fouls each. On the other hand, the Vipers were already tired because they have given their best in the first two quarters.

But the game still went on. The team captain of the Vipers, John Uriel Dayrit Zamora, did not lose hope and continued to fight to bring home the bacon, but it seemed that it was really destined for the Senior All-Stars. The All-Stars bagged the gold.

The mythical five is composed of Nathan Camarao and Zamora of Sophomore Vipers; Luis Alfredo De Mesa, Samonte and Mark Vincent Sarmiento Valmadrid of the Seniors All-Stars.

Valmadrid was awarded as the Most Valuable Player which made him a two-time MVP in basketball.
