SHARP-MTG COMPETITION

The Makati Science High School bags first place in the 2nd SHARP-MTG Math Trail and Problem Competition, Sept. 19 in Las Pinas High School.

For about a month, Ronniel A. Bequio, Kirven D.G. Molas, Hovve Jan Dominic C. Teves, and Mark Augustine Awingan undergo rigorous training under the supervision of Mr. Mark Anthony Vidallo, Mr. Ralmond Roca, and Mrs. Maria Theresa Ruiz. Their efforts are not wasted after garnering a total of 95 points that lead them to victory. Colegio de San Agustin-Makati take the second place, and Southville College gets the third spot.

Winners of the said competition will advance to the national finals as representatives of the National Capital Region (NCR) on Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 in Iloilo City.

Competing against 40 schools, Makati Science is confident that they will win. Slightly nervous but overly excited is how Bequio describes the feeling of the contest’s hype. “Magaling kasi mga teammates ko,” he added.

Makati Science is now preparing for the next Mathematics competition- the Philippine Math Olympiad on Oct. 24 in Ateneo de Manila University.
